In honour of the monthly favourites posts from many a blog I regularly read & of Jesse’s Diets from 1990’s classic Fast Show, I’ve rounded up my own summary of the places, faces, fun & food that have brought smiles into my wag life over the past month.
So, this August (& only a few days late!) I have mostly been…
My health journey to bariatric surgery was off to a flying start & I’d lost a slow & steady 2.4kg… Then I missed my weekly exercise & nutrition class due to a fibromyalgia flare up & it all went tits up. I’m now trying to find the motivation to start moving again & being mindful of my food but, like most things in life, it ain’t easy! Watch this space.
After having had it booked for months, FriendsFest finally happened for an early birthday present from me to Kayleigh. It was the best day to be a geek & I thoroughly recommend it to any Friends fan out there. Even the food had geeky references that only a Friends fan could appreciate.
Fulfilled my first ever gifted opportunity for a brand, Luesque. To most, that can be seen as selling out for a couple of pairs of leggings or selling myself short for reviewing a product without a fee but everyone starts somewhere & I’m thrilled to have made my first brand collaboration. Also, their leggings are gorgeous!
I love comedy & a friend of Crater’s recommended F Is For Family & What We Do In The Shadows. So, naturally, they have both been binge watched to the max & I’m now passing these recommendations on to you. I’ve also been loving – like, LOVING! – the new series of Stath Lets Flats.
Or, at least, trying to network. But my blogger networking has been so time cconsuming & my The 88 & Friends networking fell at the first hurdle when I needed to work overtime at my office job instead of schmooze with my fat friends while they gathered in my home town for the Topsy Curvy photo shoot.
The Little Things
As a bath baby, I never thought I’d say these words: I love showers. I’ve been working a lot of overtime (the financial struggle is real!) so haven’t had time & my usual hour-long soaks have been replaced with a short, sharp shower. And they’ve been really refreshing – especially with my mango shower gel.
And that, as they say, is that. Summer was great but now autumn is here, so I’ll see you at the end of September for more. Have a good one!
